Bassist and composer Marty Isenberg returns to Black Cat with an inventive New York ensemble for a special two-set evening. The 7:00 PM set features original music from Isenberg’s forthcoming sophomore album alongside new works from the band—fresh, evolving music heard up close as it takes shape.

At 9:15 PM, the evening shifts into The Way I Feel Inside, Isenberg’s acclaimed theatrical jazz project inspired by the films of Wes Anderson. Whimsical, offbeat, and deeply human, the music moves through nostalgia, loneliness, and wonder with the flow of a cinematic soundtrack.

The album earned a 4.5-star review from DownBeat, was praised by Vintage Guitar as “a fascinating concept, executed splendidly,” and has surpassed 200,000 streams.
