Equally comfortable in either genre, PHER's talent and passion for music have made him a standout figure in the industry. Honing his skills in the vibrant Bay Area music scene through programs like The Young Musicians Program, SF School of the Arts, and the SFJazz Allstars, PHER eventually made his way to New York, where he studied at the New School and collaborated with a star-studded list of jazz, soul, R&B, and hip-hop artists. His dedication to music education led him to join the faculty of his alma mater in 2013, teaching voice to students of all levels, including pop artists such as Sean Kingston, 070Shake, and WolfTyla. PHER's 2013 debut mixtape, "LOVElife is a Challenge," garnered significant success, chronicling his personal growth as both a man and a father. His captivating appearance on Snarky Puppy's 2016 release "Family Dinner Volume Two" showcased his smash single, "Liquid Love." Since then, PHER's music has continued to gain popularity, with his latest single, "Murky," surpassing two million streams on Spotify. The song serves as a powerful representation of hope and the unwavering faith required to pursue unconditional love. As a testament to his talent and accomplishments, PHER is honored to be a part of three Grammy-winning projects as a vocalist: two awards for Esperanza Spalding's "Radio Music Society" album and one Grammy for Jon Batiste's "Hollywood Africans." His extensive experience in the industry includes international tours and collaborations with music legends such as Usher, The Roots, Robert Glasper, Esperanza Spalding, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Kanye West, Bootsy Collins, Sam Smith, Disclosure, Mike Posner, Bilal, Harvey Mason Sr., Eddie Palmeri, Eric Harland, Chris Dave & the Drumhedz, Dianne Reeves, Kris Bowers, Sean Kingston, Chrisette Michelle, Consequence, Lupe Fiasco, and many more. Recently returning to his hometown of Oakland, California, PHER now serves as the Creative Education and Innovation Steward at the Oakland Public Conservatory of Music. His commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians and shaping the future of the industry is a testament to his passion for music and dedication to his community.
